Sending and receiving texts
Texts land in the same place your calls do, and they go out from the same number.
Where texts live
Texts appear in your Inbox, in the same thread as that person's calls. Open the conversation and reply in it. There is no separate texting screen to learn.
What the other person sees
Your texts send from your own number. Someone who has your line saved sees your name, exactly as they did before.
Who writes your texts
You do. Wayline does not write, suggest, or send texts on your behalf unless your team has specifically asked us to set that up. If you are not sure what your account does, ask your Wayline contact.
Carrier registration
Every business number in the United States has to be registered with the mobile carriers before it can send texts reliably. This is an industry requirement called A2P registration, not a Wayline one.
We file that registration for you, using your company's legal entity name and tax ID. Until it clears, keep texting as normal.
If a text fails to deliver, tell your Wayline contact rather than resending it repeatedly. Include the number you were texting and roughly when, and we can check the registration status and the carrier response.
Group texts and attachments
You can send photos and other attachments in a text thread the same way you would from a phone.
